Tarri Driver: artist, author, illustrator

I’m a lifelong creative artist with a wide range of independent, academic, professional and therapeutic arts experience. My decade of work as an art therapist in Nashville (in public schools and a children’s hospital)—along with my experience teaching college-level art therapy courses and later years as an independent art instructor—inform both my worldview and my art. Since relocating from Nashville to a small town in East Tennessee, I have retired from my career as an art therapist and re-embraced artmaking from my home studio, where I write, illustrate, publish original work, design commissions and devise new creative projects. Curiosity is my main motivator, and through my artmaking, I hope to make some sense of the world while I defiantly pursue truth, provoke thoughtful reflection and cultivate empathy.

Forthcoming works include short stories featured in the inaugural issue of Dirt Freckles, Once Upon a Crocodile, the third children’s book in my Lunar Mooner Lula series, and a new book of illustrated short stories for adults, (working title) Pursuing Terra Firma.

My short stories have appeared in issues of:

Wising Up Press

Tiny Spoon

Quarter(ly)

Five on the Fifth

Literally Stories

CommuterLit

Blood and Bourbon.
